The Tale of a Rabbit

This time around I was able to be a part of a baby shower with a theme based on the book The Tale of Peter Rabbit.  It's such a classic story and such a cute baby shower theme!

Both tiers were carrot cake filled with cream cheese frosting and frosted in buttercream.

The color scheme was a bright green, yellow, and brown.

The diaper cake the hostess made had a brown ribbon with buttons attached.  I've had buttons on the brain lately and so I couldn't resist but to incorporate them into the design.

The rabbit, flowers, fence, banner, and buttons were made with fondant.

Nesting Baby Shower

I'm going to be an aunt again!  Babies are life's greatest joy and and I am super excited to have another baby girl in the family!  I can't wait to hold her and kiss her and teach her how to say "my tia is the greatest in the world!".  Hehe.  But in the meantime, we thought it would be a good idea to treat her mommy to a baby shower.  And what a shower it was!

My mother in law and I love to be creative so it doesn't come as a surprise that we were more than happy to plan every detail of this shower.  I'm thankful that she asked me to participate in the planning and decorating of this special event and that we had wonderful people helping us make it extra special.

I'm a little obsessed with bunting banners! So with the help of my MIL, I made a bunting banner to decorate the dessert table and I couldn't resist and made a teeny tiny one for the cake too!  Dessert buffets are the trend so instead of one big cake I opted for four individual cakes instead.

The pink ruffle cake was chocolate with strawberry buttercream.  The white cake is one of my favorite, red velvet with cream cheese frosting.  I'm really loving my "naked" cake, lemon cake filled with layers of vanilla buttercream and homemade strawberry/raspberry compote and topped with fresh strawberries and raspberries! Double YUM!

This little guy was carrot cake filled with cream cheese frosting and covered in fondant.  The handmade birdhouse, bird, and flowers were also made of fondant.

I can't take the credit for the marshmallow pops or chocolate covered strawberries. Or can I Rene?  But aren't they cute?!!!

These pictures are making me hungry!  For brunch we served mini quiche, fresh fruit with a yogurt & honey dressing, veggies with a Greek yogurt dip, mandarin and walnut green salad, chicken salad croissant sandwiches, Tomato Strata, Turkey Strata, and a cabbage jello.

 I love these ladies!

Isn't the diaper cake cute?

The gifts.

The mommy to be was showered with lots of love and we all had a great time.
